I’m currently at work doing a graveyard shift. 1 day and 10 hours from now I’ll be boarding the plane to Amsterdam and the beginning of my 2 week euro trip.
Time seems to have slowed down, it always does that when I’m waiting for some big event.
I was supposed to go running on Friday but I got sidetracked googling “what to wear in hot weather” and then I had to leave for a 16 hour shift at work sooo no running was done.
I was going to go today (Saturday) but then I realized I haven’t begun packing yet, so I started to freak out about that because I really hate packing, I always end up taking too much stuff with me. Svo no running today.
I never actually did any packing either though (ugh).
Anyways, tomorrow’s to-do list:
•Do some last minute laundry
•Pack my bag and get all my travel stuff ready
•Do some cleaning around the house
•Drop off cats to be babysat at my mom’s and say goodbye to mom and brothers
•Meet dad for goodbyes
•Meet friends for goodbyes
•Meet other friends (the ones who are going with me) for some last minute trip planning/enthusing
I have about a 7 hour time window to accomplish all of this before leaving for work. Totally doable, right? Right???? *hyperventilates*
Today was my brothers birthday and I spent pretty much all day hanging out with him and the rest of my family.
I did however show up wearing my running clothes because you know, I had a run scheduled. The weather was pretty lousy as it has been the last few weeks and my dad was all like “you know you have two options, go running in the cold and rain, or just not”. I was pretty proud of myself when I told him that there was only one option for me.
It was actually nice to have a change of scenery on today’s run. The Botanical garden is a pretty popular place so there were a lot of runners out there. Also, is it just me or do other people speed up their pace a little when they meet someone running the opposite way? Especially if it’s a cute guy? haha.
Anyways, 5 km + strides done, a total of 5.6 km in 38 minutes. the strides were easier than I expected since they were just 20 sec each at about 95% capacity.
I somehow got confused when the first stride started so I inadvertently skipped it. oops.
PROGRESS IS BEING MADE KIDS! *self high five*
Goodness gracious, I’ve forgotten to tell you, I’ll be leaving on a 2 week trip through Europe in 6 days! I’m going with my boyfriend and friends, we fly out to Amsterdam and then make our way across to Split in Croatia by train, stopping in Germany and the Czech Republic along the way.
6 days you guys! I can’t wait! I’m really excited about this trip, I’m also excited about trying to be consistent with my training while I’m traveling so I’ve been googling places to run in Amsterdam and Prague. I’m supposed to go for 9 runs over that 2 week period, I do realize I’ll be on vacation so I won’t get mad at myself if for some reason I’m not able to do them all but I’m going to try at least! I’ve already convinced my boyfriend to take his running gear as well so we can go running together. Aaah I love traveling!
